Kahlewart

Hüllhorst

Freilichtbühne Kahle Wart

On the hilltop "Kahle Wart" the local history society Oberbauerschaft built an open-air stage in 1948. Since then, plays in Low and High German as well as a family play are performed here during the summer months. A stage is also provided here for external concerts and events. The stage buildings consist exclusively of half-timbered houses bearing archway inscriptions from earlier centuries and form a small half-timbered museum in the middle of the Wiehengebirge. The open-air stage is accessible at all times and is a prominent destination and starting point for hikers. The Wittekindsweg as a section of the long-distance hiking trail E5 passes the open-air stage on the stage between Osnabrück and Porta Westfalica.
