In 1914 the fire station was built with a riser and dry tower. Previously, all equipment was stored in a farmer's cottage. Until 1924 there was a compulsory fire department in Schnathorst, only then the volunteer fire department was founded. The fire station served the volunteer fire department until 1966, when it was extensively renovated and listed by the Schnathorst fire department in the early 1990s. At times, even criminals were housed in a holding cell in the rear part of the building.
